About the player
Dimitar Mitrovski arrived at Olimpija Ljubljana in June 2025 for a reported fee of between €800,000 and €1,000,000, making the move a club record for the Adam Delius era at Olimpija. He signed a contract running until 2028.
The transfer followed a breakthrough two seasons at NK Varaždin, where Mitrovski made 62 appearances and scored 12 goals across his time at the club, with eight of those goals coming in the 2024–25 campaign alone. That form earned him a nomination for HNL Player of the Season for 2024–25. His route to Varaždin ran through Akademija Pandev, where he joined on a free transfer and scored six goals in 31 appearances, after starting his senior career with Sporting CP's B team.
Before turning professional, Mitrovski passed through the academies of FK Rabotnički, Hansa Rostock, 1. FC Magdeburg and Sporting CP. He has since been capped by North Macedonia at senior level, adding to earlier appearances for the country's U17, U19 and U21 sides.
Among teammates, Mitrovski has picked up the nickname "Messi", a reference to his dribbling ability.
