About the player
Berlin-born, Fabian Bredlow started out in Hertha Zehlendorf's youth ranks before joining RB Leipzig in 2012. He signed his first professional contract there in 2014 and was loaned out to FC Liefering, its Austrian second-division affiliate, where he made 29 appearances and won both the Austrian 2. Liga and the Austrian Cup.
He returned to Germany in 2015 on a free transfer to Hallescher FC, staying until 2017, when he moved on to 1. FC Nürnberg. VfB Stuttgart signed him from Nürnberg in the summer of 2019 for a reported fee of around €300,000.
Bredlow's first season at Stuttgart ended with the 2. Bundesliga title and promotion back to the Bundesliga. Since then he has mostly served as backup goalkeeper, though he was part of the squad that lifted the DFB-Pokal in the 2024–25 season, playing the role of understudy to Florian Müller through the final stages. He has made 52 appearances for the club across all competitions.
At youth international level, Bredlow earned a single cap for Germany's U19 side in 2013, followed by five caps for the U20s between 2014 and 2016. He has not been called up to the senior national team.
