Finlay Robertson

Finlay Robertson’s connection to Dundee goes deeper than a simple career move. He joined the club’s academy at age 11, having previously played for the Fairmuir Boys Club. That early commitment paid off quickly; he signed his first professional contract on his 16th birthday in November 2018. The academy graduate marked his first-team debut with a cameo in the final game of the 2018–19 season against St Mirren.

His development was steady but not without pauses. In September 2021, Robertson spent a loan spell at Cove Rangers in Scottish League One. He made 10 appearances there. By the time he returned, he had already been recognised locally, taking the Isobel Sneddon Young Player of the Year award for the 2019–20 season.

The midfielder’s career trajectory shifted significantly during the 2022–23 campaign. He was part of the Dundee squad that won the Scottish Championship, securing promotion to the Premiership. This success coincided with a series of contract extensions. After an initial deal in 2020, he signed new deals in June 2023 and February 2025, keeping him at the club until 2028. The 10-shirt wearer has established himself as a reliable presence in the centre of the park.

On the international stage, Robertson has represented Scotland at youth levels. He earned two caps for the U19 team in 2019 and one cap for the U21 side in 2023. As of the latest information, he has not earned a senior cap for the national team. His international journey continues to develop alongside his club commitments.
