Franco Vázquez

Franco Vázquez wears the number six shirt at Argentinos Juniors, but the last two seasons have been spent almost entirely away from the club that formed him. In June 2025 the centre-back moved out on loan to Deportivo Morón, a switch into the Primera B Nacional that gave him a run of first-team football his early career in the reserves had not.

That loan spell turned into a genuine stretch of regular football: 18 appearances for Morón in 2025 and a further 20 the following year, the kind of consistent minutes that separate a squad player from a fringe one. Before that, Vázquez's football had been confined to Argentinos Juniors' reserve side, where he featured in 2023 and again in 2025.

His senior involvement with Argentinos Juniors itself remains limited so far. He made a single appearance in the Copa Sudamericana in 2024, and has added four matches in the Liga Profesional in 2026 following his return from the loan on 30 July that year. The defender is contracted to the club until the end of 2029.

Born in Buenos Aires, Vázquez stands at 183cm, the kind of frame typically suited to the centre of defence, the position he has occupied throughout his development. For now, his career reads as a case study in the loan pathway many young Argentine defenders take: leave the academy for regular minutes in the second tier, then come back and try to force a place in the side that raised you.
