Garang Kuol

Garang Kuol was born in Cairo before his family settled in Australia, where his path into the game began at Goulburn Valley Suns. He joined the Central Coast Mariners academy in 2021 and made his senior debut in the A-League Men the same year, going on to make 30 appearances and score five goals for the club.

His rise accelerated in September 2022, when he signed for Newcastle United for a fee of around £300,000, though the move was not made official until January 2023. He never made a competitive senior appearance for the club, instead spending time out on loan: first at Heart of Midlothian in Scotland, where he scored once in eight games, then at FC Volendam in the Netherlands, where he scored once in 15 appearances and became the club's youngest foreign scorer. In August 2025 he moved permanently to Sparta Praha.

Internationally, Kuol's rise was rapid. He made his senior debut for Australia against New Zealand in September 2022, and became the youngest player ever selected for an Australian squad at a FIFA World Cup, appearing in matches against France and Argentina. He has since won five senior caps, scoring a goal against Ecuador in a friendly in March 2023, and was part of the Australia under-23 side that reached the final of the 2024 WAFF U-23 Championship.
