About the player
Waterford's deal for Goforth Amedu was completed in June 2026, when he signed a short-term contract running to the end of December 2026.
Amedu arrived in Ireland as a free agent. He began with FC One Rocket in the Nigeria National League before joining Bayelsa United in the Nigeria Professional Football League in the summer of 2024, where he spent a season. In the second half of 2025 he switched to Warri Wolves, also in Nigeria's second tier, from where he moved on to Waterford without a fee being disclosed at any stage of his progression through Nigerian football.
At 191 cm and right-footed, he wears the number 32 shirt for Waterford in the League of Ireland Premier Division. He was named in the matchday squad for the club's fixture against Shelbourne on August 2, 2026.
