About the player
Henry Rorig arrived at Energie Cottbus in the summer of 2024 and he has since added a third. The right-back's path started in Bremen: after coming through the Hannover 96 and VfL Wolfsburg academies, he joined Werder Bremen's youth setup and turned professional with the club's second team in 2019, where he was part of the squad that won the German Amateur Championship in 2020.
The moves that followed built his reputation for arriving at clubs on the way up. At 1. FC Magdeburg from 2020, he helped the side win the 3. Liga title in 2020–21 and reach the 2. Bundesliga, later adding the Saxony-Anhalt Cup in 2022. He then switched to VfL Osnabrück, where a run of 35 league appearances and two goals culminated in a second promotion to the 2. Bundesliga in 2023, alongside a Lower Saxony Cup win.
At Cottbus, Rorig has made the right-back slot his own, and the pattern has continued: he was a key figure as the club won the 3. Liga in 2024–25, securing promotion to the 2. Bundesliga for the 2025–26 season. He has made around 62 appearances for the club, scoring five goals.
Rorig has represented German youth sides but has not featured for the senior national team.
