Owen Bevan left the AFC Bournemouth academy after thirteen years to join Dundee FC. He signed a two-year deal with the club. Bevan’s journey to the professional ranks was defined by a change in position. He began his time at Bournemouth playing as a midfielder, a role he held until he was fourteen. At that point, he switched to defence, a decision that ultimately defined his path. His professional debut came on August 23, 2022, in a League Cup match against Norwich City. To gain experience, he spent time on loan at several clubs. A spell at Truro City saw him make nineteen appearances and score one goal, while a longer stay at Yeovil Town yielded thirty-one caps and another goal. He also spent time at Cheltenham Town, though that period produced no goals. An attempt to secure a foothold in the Scottish game via a loan to Hibernian in February 2024 was cut short by a thigh injury, resulting in no appearances. Internationally, Bevan represents Wales despite being born in Winchester. He has earned caps for the U17, U19, and U21 teams. At Dundee, he wears the number 5 shirt. The transfer fee for his move was not disclosed, but reports suggested he earns a weekly salary of £1,400. Standing 186 cm tall and favouring his right foot, he now looks to establish himself as a regular centre-back in Scotland.
