Jannik Hofmann

Jannik Hofmann came through the youth system at 1. FC Nürnberg after starting out at BSC Saas Bayreuth, working his way through the club's U17, U19 and reserve sides before making his first-team debut in February 2024. He made nine or ten appearances in the 2. Bundesliga for Nürnberg and added a further outing in the DFB-Pokal, also registering an assist, while his time with the reserves in the Regionalliga Bayern amounted to 40 matches.

In January 2025, Nürnberg sent him out on loan to VfB Stuttgart II for the rest of the season, where the right-back made 14 appearances in the 3. Liga and set up another goal. That spell led to a fresh loan move in July 2025, this time to Rot-Weiß Essen for the 2025/26 campaign. The switch worked out well: Hofmann established himself as a regular starter and contributed three goals and four assists in the 3. Liga.

The loan form was enough to convince Rot-Weiß Essen to make the move permanent, and Hofmann signed a contract with the club running to the summer of 2028. Neither side has disclosed the transfer fee, though figures circulating unofficially have put it in the region of €150,000 to €200,000.

Hofmann's early development also included a productive run in Nürnberg's youth ranks, where he scored three goals in 23 games at U17 level and added another in eight U19 appearances during the 2018/19 season. He has yet to feature for Germany at any representative level.
