About the player
Justus Ojanen's route to FC Lahti ran through a scoring season rather than a straight academy pipeline. Born in Tampere, he began at Kaarinan Pojat before moving into Ilves's youth system, where he progressed through the U19 side in the A-pojat SM-sarja and, from January 2023, into Ilves II in the Kakkonen. A single senior appearance for Ilves came during that spell, but his path forward opened up only after he left the club.
The turning point came in 2025. Having joined SJK Akatemia in April, Ojanen scored 10 goals in 27 matches in the Ykkösliiga. That form led directly to his move to FC Lahti, announced in November 2025 as a free transfer effective from the start of 2026. He signed a two-year contract with an option for a third season, timing his arrival to coincide with Lahti's promotion to the Veikkausliiga after finishing the 2025 season in the second tier.
Ojanen is comfortable on either foot. He arrives at Lahti with no senior international recognition to his name.
