About the player
Kenzie Mitchell's route to Ayr United began with a search for first-team football. He came through the youth ranks at St Mirren and, in January 2025, moved to Ayr in order to get it.
The move followed a spell of senior football away from the club. Mitchell spent the 2024/25 season on loan at Auchinleck Talbot, making his debut on 22 February 2025 against Muirkirk Juniors. He scored his first goal on 3 May 2025, against Beith Juniors.
He is a left-back by trade, but can also play in midfield, in a holding role or further forward.
Mitchell is a local player. He is described as a Dundonald kid, and his father played for Troon Juniors, so the Ayrshire game was familiar to him before he joined Ayr. He was born in Troon, a few miles down the coast, and now plays for a club in his home area.
He has been capped by Scotland at youth level. Since signing he has been part of the Ayr United squad through the 2024/25 and 2025/26 seasons.
