About the player
Mehmet Erdoğan came up through Konyaspor's academy, joining the club's youth system and signing his first professional contract there in January 2022. For two seasons he stayed behind the first-team goalkeeper, playing instead for the U19 and U21 sides without ever making an official appearance in the league, the cup or continental competition. That spell ended in July 2024, when he left as a free agent for Keçiörengücü and put his signature to a contract running until June 2028.
The move has given him the regular football his time at Konyaspor did not. In the 2025/2026 1. Lig season he has started 14 matches for Keçiörengücü and kept four clean sheets.
Internationally, Erdoğan has followed the usual route through Turkey's youth ranks, making his U19 debut in October 2022 before stepping up to the U21s. He has been named in the Turkey U21 squad for qualifiers in the 2027 UEFA European Under-21 Championship, including fixtures against Ukraine U21 and Croatia U21. Reports linking him to the youth setups at Beşiktaş or Galatasaray have no basis; Konyaspor remains the only academy he has ever come through.
