About the player
The Ivorian forward started out at Lillestrøm in Norway, where he scored 13 goals in 71 league appearances before Lorient brought him to France in a deal worth around €400,000. He made just 13 Ligue 1 appearances, spending much of it with the reserves, and in 2017 he moved on to Konyaspor in Turkey for a considerably smaller fee.
Turkey is where his career found its shape. At Konyaspor he won the Turkish Cup in 2016–17 and followed it with the Turkish Super Cup the following season, contributing 9 goals across 76 Süper Lig appearances.
He has since agreed a transfer to Ankara Keçiörengücü. Fofana plays comfortably off either foot. He has not been capped at international level for Ivory Coast.
