About the player
Nahuel Octavio Barboza built his career from the bottom of Argentine football, working his way up through Sportivo Barracas in the Primera D and El Porvenir in the Primera C before joining San Martín de Burzaco in 2021.
The move that changed his career came in December 2022, when Barboza signed for Gimnasia y Esgrima de Mendoza on a free transfer. He made his senior debut for the club in 2023 in the Primera Nacional, establishing himself as part of the midfield rotation alongside players such as Matías Recalde and Jeremías Puch.
He has yet to register a goal or an assist in his senior career, though he has created goalscoring chances for team-mates, and he has picked up three yellow cards along the way.
