About the player
Platonov is a product of the FC Sochi academy, where he progressed through the youth ranks before working his way to the club's reserve sides. He played for Sochi's reserve team in the Youth Football League and the First League, then moved into the Second League with Sochi-2, where he made 32 appearances and scored twice in 2025. His only outing for Sochi's senior side came in the Russian Cup during the 2024–25 season, before his path took him elsewhere.
In 2025, Platonov left Sochi as a free agent and joined FK Neftekhimik Nizhnekamsk, a switch that gave him a regular route into senior football. Since arriving, he has made around ten appearances in the First League for his new club and scored once.
His form did not go unnoticed internationally. Platonov earned a call-up to Russia's under-21 side and made his debut in a friendly against Iraq's under-23 team, which Russia won 1–0. He collected two caps during a training camp in Turkey, also featuring in a 5–1 victory over the same opposition. He has not featured for the senior national team.
