About the player
Preslav Bachev came through Levski Sofia's academy after starting out at Ariston Ruse and Dunav Ruse, joining the Sofia club's youth setup in 2017. He worked his way up through the U15 and U17 Elite Groups, and in the 2021/2022 season was a regular starter for the U17 side, scoring 4 goals in 24 matches. He reached a BFA Cup semi-final with the U16 team and a final with the U18 team, where Levski lost to Slavia.
He made his senior debut for Levski Sofia on 19 May 2022 and went on to make 20 league appearances for the first team between 2022 and 2026, scoring once — his first senior goal came in August 2023 in a 1-0 win over Botev Vratsa. Alongside those first-team outings, he was a prolific scorer for Levski Sofia II, netting 17 goals in 27 Third League appearances.
Two loan spells followed. In 2024/2025 he went to Botev Vratsa, making 11 First League appearances without scoring. He then moved on loan to Dunav Ruse for 2025/2026, where he found his scoring touch in the Second Professional Football League, contributing 7 goals in 28 appearances.
On 19 June 2026, Arda Kardzhali announced his signing from Levski Sofia on a three-year contract until 30 June 2029. The fee was described as a low transfer sum, with Levski retaining a significant percentage of any future sale.
Bachev has represented Bulgaria at U17 and U19 level.
