About the player
Vinícius Souza's career carries the imprint of Flamengo's academy, where he came through the youth ranks before breaking into the senior side in 2019.
A move to Belgium followed in 2020, when Lommel SK paid a reported €2.5 million for the defensive midfielder. He spent the next two seasons out on loan, first at KV Mechelen, where he contributed two goals in 32 league matches, then at RCD Espanyol, where he added another goal in 34 appearances in Spain.
Joining Sheffield United in August 2023, he made 71 league appearances across two seasons, featuring in the FA Cup and in the Championship play-offs along the way.
