Bystrc Kníničky

Bystrc plays its derby against TJ Tatran Kohoutovice, a fixture the local press calls the Brno derby or simply the traditional derby, and it is that rivalry across the city, more than anything the club managed on the second tier, that fans in these Brno districts measure themselves against.

The name Dosta comes from the construction firm Dopravní stavby, attached to the club in 1994, and the ground carries a second name of its own: Stadion pod Přehradou, once known as Stadion pod Pekařkou, seating 2,200 on Obvodová in Brno-Bystrc.

The club's one season in the Czech National Football League, 2006–07, ended in relegation after a 16th-place finish, and it came at a cost. The following year a match against Vítkovice was found to have been fixed; three players and two coaches were banned, Tibor Duda for two years and Michael Benko, who ran a betting-office branch, for seven. The club has not returned to that level since.

Two promotions had carried it there: runner-up finishes in the Moravian-Silesian Football League in 2003–04 and again in 2005–06, built on the Division D title of 2002–03. Ing. Zdeněk Rýc had already taken the side up once before, to the South Moravian Regional Championship in 1993–94. Further down, in the academy, Václav Michna spent years as youth coach, sending on a number of players who went on to play top-flight football elsewhere.

Before any of that, in 1932, there were two clubs rather than one: SK Bystrc and DSK Kníničky, each serving its own district on the edge of Brno. SK Bystrc reached the third tier of Czechoslovak football in the years before 1940. The merger that made them Sokol Bystrc-Kníničky did not come until September 1961.
