Cilegon United

Raffi Ahmad and his wife Nagita Slavina came to the club through their company, RANS Entertainment. In March 2021, together with Rudy Salim's Prestige Motorcars, they paid about Rp 300 billion for Cilegon United. The side had been founded on 21 November 2012 in Cilegon and started in the Third Division. It won the Second Division in 2013. In 2014 it won the First Division, beating Persibat Batang on penalties in the final at Stadion Krakatau Steel.

The new owners renamed it RANS Cilegon FC that March. On 30 May 2022 it became RANS Nusantara FC, a name chosen to reach beyond one city. In 2021–22 the club finished as Liga 2 runners-up to Persis Solo and went up to Liga 1.

The move up took the club away from Cilegon. Stadion Seruni, the 20,000-capacity ground meant to be its home, was not where it played its top-flight football. Home games were staged at Stadion Pakansari in Bogor and at Gelora Bung Karno Madya in Jakarta, and later in Sleman and Pasuruan. The frequent moves were one of the controversies that followed the club, along with fan bans and speculation about its finances.

It finished 16th in 2023–24 and went down to Liga 2. A year later it ended second from bottom of its group and lost the relegation playoffs, dropping to Liga Nusantara. It won that division in 2025–26 and goes into 2026–27 in the Championship tier.

Its nickname, The Volcano, refers to Krakatau. Locally the club has three rivals, all from Cilegon: Persic Cilegon, PSKS Krakatau Steel and Persigon Cilegon.
