Diegem Sport

The Gemeentelijk Sportstadion in Diegem holds around 4,000 people. The new club kept the green and white, and the nickname De Groen-Witten followed. Fifty years on, in 1993 or 1994, it added the royal prefix, becoming Koninklijke Diegem Sport.

The 2024–25 season broke that pattern: a third-place finish in the fifth-tier 2e Afdeling VV B took Diegem into the promotion play-offs, and the club sealed a place in Belgian Division 1 for 2025–26.

What has carried the club's name further than any of those results is its youth set-up. The academy took the Foot-PASS Award as Belgium's best in 2013–14 and later earned DoublePass's top four-star rating for youth development. Yannick Carrasco came through it before Genk and Anderlecht picked him up, and Nabil Dirar started his senior career at the club in 2004.

Locally, none of that matters as much as the fixture with KCS Machelen, the neighbouring club within the same municipality. Games between the two are known as the Derby van Diegem.
