Furkan Özhan wore the armband for Erzurumspor's under-19 side before he ever pulled on a senior shirt. Eyüp Oskan came through the same setup and went on to represent Turkey at youth level, the clearest proof the production line works.

The side plays in the TFF Gelişim Ligi, the development league that feeds Turkish football's age-group structure, and it has not been a quiet presence there. In 2023-2024 the group stage alone brought 131 goals in 21 matches. The team has yet to lift the national U19 title, but it has kept knocking on the door: the last 8 of the Türkiye Şampiyonası in 2024-2025, then a play-off campaign in 2025-2026 in which it won its group outright with 50 points.

They call themselves the Dadaşlar, a nod to Erzurum's own idea of itself, and that identity now carries extra weight upstairs. The senior team won the TFF 1. Lig in 2025-2026 and goes up to the Süper Lig for 2026-2027, which changes what the academy is for.
