Rahim Kurbanmamedov took over midway through the debut season of 2006, inherited a side that finished third, and won the Ýokary Liga in 2007 and again in 2008.
The Turkmenistan Cup has twice come within a match: in 2011 the final ended goalless and went to penalties, where HTTU Aşgabat prevailed, and in 2016 Altyn Asyr won 4-0. Third place returned in 2011 and 2015. In 2012 the club finished bottom and kept its place in the top flight regardless.
Berdi Şamyradow scored 11 in the second title season and 18 the year after, though by then the trophies had stopped. Elman Tagaýew's 22 goals in 2013 came in a fourth-place side.
