Glacis United

Every era of dominance ends with a rival who won't let the old order sleep, and for Glacis United that rival was Lincoln Red Imps. Closer to home, matches against Gibraltar United carry the weight of a North District rivalry — the kind fought less for the table than for the neighbourhood.

The table itself tells the older story. Nothing has been added since 2000, and the gap between that dominance and the years after earned the club a nickname of its own on the Rock: the sleeping giant. Even so, Glacis has never fallen out of the top flight — bottom-of-the-table finishes have come and gone, but relegation never has.

Allen Bula came through as a player before going on to manage Gibraltar's national team. Bennie Brinkman, a Dutch professional in his playing days, later ran the club from both the chairman's office and the dugout.

The Clarets go into the current Premier Division and Rock Cup campaigns still chasing the form that once made both competitions theirs by habit.
