Haguenau

National 3 is as high as Haguenau has climbed this century, and it took the whole of the 2017–18 season in the Grand Est group to get there. The club dates its identity to two Alsatian institutions that merged in 1987: FC Haguenau, founded on 10 May 1900, and Sports Réunis Haguenau, formed in 1920. It counts the older club's Alsace championship of 1939 among its own honours, along with regional titles won as FCSR in 1992, 1994 and 2000, each a step up through the fourth tier of French football before a longer stretch without one.

Local sides in Bas-Rhin know Les Sandhaas well enough to have a name for them — "sand rabbits" in the Alsatian dialect, after the pink sand around the town where rabbits burrow. Matches against SR Colmar, FC Mulhouse and SC Schiltigheim carry the weight of a derby even without a fixture ever formally carrying the name.

Two Round-of-32 appearances in the Coupe de France, in 1995–96 and 2004–05, remain the club's high-water marks against professional opposition. Régis Dorn spent the 1998–99 season at the Parc des Sports before Strasbourg took him on and, later, a run in the Bundesliga; Gaëtan Weissbeck did his damage the other way, scoring 28 goals for Haguenau itself between 2017 and 2019.
