Holstein Kiel II

Kiel's second team spent 2025/26 chasing the Oberliga Schleswig-Holstein title and came up a place short, finishing runners-up to SV Todesfelde.

The Young Storks exist to feed the first team, and the traffic between the two sides has produced some of the club's better-known names. Ole Werner played for the reserves in 2006/07, then came back to manage them from 2014 to 2019. Marvin Ducksch worked his way through from the junior sides and went on to finish as a leading scorer in the 2. Bundesliga with the first team.

Promotion has not always come easily. Three straight Verbandsliga and Oberliga titles between 2008 and 2010 brought no reward: they lost the 2009 promotion play-off to FC St. Pauli II on penalties and chose not to try again the following year. It took until 2018 for the club to fight its way back into the Regionalliga Nord through the play-offs.

They play at the Citti Fussball Park, known locally as the Leistungszentrum Projensdorf. The derby against Kilia Kiel carries its own edge, Kilia's 5-1 win among them.

Among those who passed through on their way elsewhere, Simon Terodde turned out for the reserves early in his career, around 2010.
