Karlsruher SC Women

In the first round of the 2001/02 DFB-Pokal, the newly formed women's side of Karlsruher SC met 1. FFC Frankfurt and lost 0:20. The team had existed for a matter of months, put together when DFC Eggenstein folded and its players moved across to Karlsruher SC, which opened a women's department to take them in. That same season they won the Nordbaden-Pokal, and won it again the following year.

The promotion came in 2003/04. First place in the Oberliga Baden-Württemberg carried the side into the 2. Frauen-Bundesliga for 2004/05. In January 2005 the coach and a large part of the squad resigned together and joined ASV Hagsfeld. The club settled into the Regionalliga Süd.

The second Oberliga title arrived 16 years later and in odd circumstances: the 2019/20 season was stopped by the pandemic with Karlsruhe top, and the placing stood. It returned them to the Regionalliga Süd.
