Keith

Keith's fiercest fixture is the local derby with Formartine United, and it sits inside a league that Keith have never been relegated from since joining the Scottish Highland League in 1924. The Highland League is the top tier of non-league football in the north of Scotland.

The Maroons, named after their maroon shirts and socks, play at Kynoch Park. Sir John W.K. Kynoch donated the ground in 1922, and the first match there, against Elgin City, ended in a 1–0 defeat. The ground's record crowd came six years later: 5,820 for a Scottish Cup tie against Celtic in 1928. That is more than double today's capacity of 2,362, of which 370 places are seated.

Keith won the Highland League in 1978–79, 1979–80 and 1980–81, and floodlights were installed in 1980. A fourth title followed in 1984–85. In 2006–07 they took the league title, the Highland League Cup, the Aberdeenshire Shield and the Aberdeenshire League in one season.

The Scottish Cup has given them both extremes. In 1960 they beat Hamilton Academical 3–0. In 1996 they lost 10–1 to Rangers.

Colin Hendry began his career at Keith. He went on to play for Blackburn Rovers, Manchester City and Rangers, and captained Scotland at the 1998 World Cup. Hamish French, another Keith player, went on to Dundee United and Dunfermline Athletic.

Keith have won the Highland League seven times, the most recent in 2006–07, and they continue to play in the division.
