Thomas Delaney is the name the academy at F.C. Copenhagen points to first. He came through the youth system, made his senior debut in 2008 and went on to win five Danish Superliga titles and four Danish Cups with the first team. The under-19 side exists to produce players on that path, and it was set up for that purpose in 1992, alongside the senior club, when Kjøbenhavns Boldklub and Boldklubben 1903 merged.

Andreas Cornelius took a different route. He arrived in the youth system after time at BK Hekla and Fremad Amager, so the academy has drawn in players from smaller Copenhagen clubs as well as raising its own.

The under-19s have no single home. They train mostly at Per Henrik Lings Allé 2 and move to Parken, which holds 38,065, only for the bigger fixtures. The training ground is also where November 2025 went wrong. The under-19 derby against Brøndby was abandoned after a power outage at the 10'eren facility, with Brøndby leading 3-1. Rivalry with Brøndby runs through every age group, and the youth games carry it too.

The side has played in the UEFA Youth League group stage in 2016/17, 2022/23 and 2023/24, and again in 2025/26. In the 2025/26 season it won the Danish under-19 championship, and the under-17s won their own title in the same year. That double is the most recent thing to set beside the senior club's 16 league titles.

What the youth side has not done is win the Youth League outright. Its appearances there have stopped at the group stage.
