Two small clubs in the Nord vaudois district shared little beyond geography and money. FC La Sarraz, founded in 1910, and FC Eclépens, founded in 1968, merged on 5 May 1994 to form FC La Sarraz-Eclépens.
The club has settled into the fourth tier, the 1. Liga Classic, a level it has occupied since relegation in the 2016–17 season. There has been no cup or league silverware to speak of, though the club did reach the round of 32 of the Swiss Cup in 2008–09 before Servette put it out, 6–1.
The one fixture that still carries weight locally is against FC Bavois.
The clearest mark the club has left recently was made by someone who left it: Rodolfo Lippo came through at La Sarraz-Eclépens before Lausanne-Sport's academy picked him up, and in November 2025 he made his first-team debut in the Swiss Super League.
