Meerbusch SC

Christoph Peters took over TuS Bösinghoven when the club was in the ninth tier, the Kreisliga, and had it in the Oberliga Niederrhein, the fifth, by 2012. That was five promotions in six years. The runners-up finish in the Landesliga Niederrhein in 2010–11 was one step on the way, and it brought promotion to the Verbandsliga Niederrhein. Bösinghoven is a small part of Meerbusch, and the club's rise came without a major senior honour to mark it.

Climbing that quickly left a small club sitting high in the pyramid. Just across Meerbusch was ASV Lank, founded in 1925, nearly four decades before Bösinghoven's own start in 1964. The two clubs merged on 1 July 2015 as TSV Meerbusch. Members voted for it heavily: 94.1% of those at TuS Bösinghoven and 91.0% at ASV Lank.

The merged side took blue and yellow as its colours, and it took the Theodor-Mostertz-Sportanlage in Lank as its base. Matches are played on Platz 2, which holds 2,000.

Two players who came through football in this part of the Lower Rhine went on to the professional game. Bekim Kastrati, an Albanian international, played for Borussia Mönchengladbach, Eintracht Braunschweig and Fortuna Düsseldorf. Oliver Hampel, a German international, played for Hamburger SV and Fortuna Düsseldorf.

SC St. Tönis 11/20 also meet them often. TSV Meerbusch's task now is to stay in the Oberliga Niederrhein, the level Peters reached with Bösinghoven, this time under the joint name.
