Ossett Town and Ossett Albion sat down and agreed the rivalry was no longer affordable. The first match followed that October, and by the end of that debut season, 2018–19, United had lifted the West Riding County Cup and finished fifth in the Northern Premier League Division One East.

The nickname points somewhere older than the merger. "The Ramicorns" carries that history into the badge and the stands, even as the shirts stayed sky blue over navy shorts.
