Maciej Rybus and Przemysław Płacheta both learned the game at Pelikan Łowicz.
The club traces back to 1945. Stadion Pelikana, opened in 1990 and holding 4,000, has been home since.
Promotion has come slowly. The regional cup in the Łódź Voivodeship went to Pelikan in 2020, and results have improved since: the club took the IV liga Łódź title in 2025–26, going up to the III liga, and returned to the same competition's final in 2026. Against Unia Skierniewice, those results carry the extra weight of the Derby Regionu.
The women's section has its own line of progress, reaching the I liga, the third tier of the women's game, back in 2012–13, the same season the men's side went as far as the last 16 of the Polish Cup.
