Talk of rivalry around Pěnčín runs through Turnov rather than against it. The club now playing as FC Pěnčín grew up separately in the Jablonec nad Nisou district, distinct from that older, Liberec District side founded back in 1922.
On the pitch, FC Pěnčín has spent recent seasons doing what small district clubs rarely manage twice: winning their region outright. The Liberec Region Championship went to Pěnčín in 2022/2023 and again in 2024/2025, with a regional cup added in between during the 2023/2024 campaign.
Behind the results, the club has leaned into its youth setup. Adam Pelta joined in 2021 to build out the structure, and the numbers now run to around 80 young players passing through. President Jaroslav Strnad has overseen the club through this stretch, green and yellow on the shirts throughout.
None of it traces back to a single dramatic founding moment.
