Redbridge

Barkingside sits in the London Borough of Redbridge, and Ford United was born in 1959 from the merger of two works teams, Ford Sports from the Dagenham car plant and Briggs Sports from Briggs Motor Bodies, both dating back to 1934. It was not until July 2004 that the club took the borough's name, though the nickname, the Motormen, still points back to the assembly lines that gave it life.

The Techsoc.com Stadium in Barkingside, also known as Oakside Stadium, became the club's own only in 2001, when it bought the ground outright from Barkingside F.C. The record home attendance is 1,300 people, who packed in there for a FA Cup replay against Port Vale in 2003.

The FA Cup has given Redbridge its biggest afternoons twice over: a First Round Proper appearance in 1998–99, then again in 2003–04, before the run of 2011–12 topped both, taking the club past Ebbsfleet United and Oxford City into the Second Round Proper, where Crawley Town ended it.

Relegation to the Essex Senior League in 2015–16 knocked the club back down the pyramid, and it took until 2022–23, via an Inter-League Playoff Final win, to return to the Isthmian League. The following season brought a first Essex Senior Cup, won on penalties against Colchester United, an EFL side. Against Barking F.C., the local derby carries a sharper edge.
