Rupel Boom

Rupel Boom won the Second Amateur League in 2017–18, and the title took them up to the First Amateur League. In 1998 the insolvent K. Boom F.C., founded in 1908, and Rupel SK, founded in 1934, merged into K. Rupel-Boom FC.

Rupel Boom's other big result came in the 2011–12 Belgian Cup. They knocked out Anderlecht, the country's record champions, in the third round and reached the quarter-finals. In 2009–10 they finished as runners-up and moved up to the Third Division.

The nearest rival is FC Duffel, and the fixture is simply called "de derby". There is also the "Derby of the A12" against SK Londerzeel, and a rivalry with Racing Mechelen.

Glenn De Boeck played for the predecessor K. Boom F.C., went on to win international caps for Belgium, and later worked as a technical advisor at Rupel Boom. He died in December 2025.

The name people outside Boom know is Romelu Lukaku. He joined the youth side aged five and stayed from 1999 to 2003. His father, Roger, had played for the club in the 1990s.
