Skegness Town

In the 1955–56 season Skegness Town reached the First Round Proper of the FA Cup and lost to Worksop Town. The same season brought a Lincolnshire League title, the second of the seven they would win, and the club was then in the middle of a stretch in which the Lincolnshire FA Senior 'B' Cup and the Central Alliance (South) also came their way.

The club was formed in 1947 out of two pre-war sides, Skegness United and Skegness Blue Rovers, so the town had one team where it had had two. A year later they were founder members of the Lincolnshire League, and they won it in 1951–52. The next titles were 2006–07 and 2007–08, followed by 2013–14, 2015–16 and 2016–17.

The name The Lilywhites comes from the home kit of white shirts, red shorts and red socks. George Raynor managed the club before taking Sweden to the 1958 World Cup final.

Promotion in 2021 took the club into the United Counties League Premier Division North, at Step 5 of the National League System. The United Counties League Challenge Cup followed in 2023–24.

Since 2017 the team has played at the Vertigo Stadium on Wainfleet Road, which holds 1,000 and replaced Burgh Road. It is also called the Skegness Stadium, and the ground is where the town turns out for its football.
