Tovarníky sit in the fourth tier of Slovak football, the Západoslovenský region of the 4. liga. What does travel is the Slovnaft Cup run: in 2023/2024 Tovarníky put out OFK Solčany 2-0 and then beat FK Junior Kanianka 5-2, a scoreline that carries a small club two rounds deep into a national competition. FC ViOn Zlaté Moravce – Vráble, a side from the same district playing several divisions higher, ended it in the third round, winning 3-0. It was not the first time Solčany had fallen to Tovarníky in the cup — the same 2-0 scoreline had put them out three seasons earlier, in 2020/2021, before Tovarníky lost 0-5 to FK Železiarne Podbrezová.

The club was founded in 1924, in the Zlaté Moravce district of the Nitra Region, and has stayed at regional level through the century since. Home matches are played at a ground holding 1,500 people.

No trophies sit in the club's history, and no nickname has ever attached itself to the side. What stands out is that run to the third round of the Slovnaft Cup, twice built on the same opening step past Solčany, before a team from higher up the pyramid closed it out.
