Vorwärts-Wacker 04

Alexander Nouri came through the youth ranks at Vorwärts-Wacker 04, then played professionally and later worked as a manager. Fábio Baldé passed through the youth side in 2019–2020 and is now at RC Strasbourg.

The men's team plays in the Oberliga Hamburg, and the Hamburg Cup is where it has come closest to a trophy. It has reached the final three times and lost each one. In 1997/98 it went down 0–4 to the FC St. Pauli amateur side, and in 2010/11 it lost 0–1 to Eimsbütteler TV. The most recent final, in 2025/26, ended 1–5 against HEBC.

The youth section has done better. Its under-13s won the Hamburg Cup in 2023/24 and won it again the next season.

Vorwärts-Wacker was formed on 19 May 1990 by merging two neighbours who had spent decades as rivals: SV Wacker 04 and SC Vorwärts Schiffbek, later Vorwärts Billstedt. Their meetings were known as the Billstedter Derby. The "04" stayed in the name for Wacker, which dates from 1904 and was founded by Max Zimmermann and Gustav Ortmann. Vorwärts, founded in 1913 by Heinrich Lüders and Vincent Havlena, gave the club its first half. In the 1930s Wacker had been called the "Ligatöter", the League Killer. The purple, white and red colours are worn on a 2,000-capacity ground on Öjendorfer Weg.
