FC Veszprém traces its lineage to 1912 in the Hungarian city of Veszprém. While sources debate whether the date marks the original formation or a later reorganization, the club has survived dissolution and reconstruction. It ceased operations in 2005 only to be reestablished the following year, maintaining continuity with a history that includes a stint in the top flight. The team’s finest hour in the NB I arrived in 1990–91, when they finished fifth. They have never quite returned to that level, but they remain competitive in the second tier, having claimed the NB II title in 1988.

The club’s identity is tied to its colours: blue and white. The stadium, the Egyetemi Stadion, holds 5,000 spectators. The club is often referred to as VFC, though the nickname’s origin is not definitively established. When the club dissolved, the stadium remained a landmark for local sport, and its return in 2006 ensured it would not fall silent.
