A cup tie decided without a ball kicked settles most reserve-team scores nobody bothers to keep. In 2024 Wisła Kraków II were awarded the Kraków Cup 3-0 after Wieczysta Kraków II fielded a player who had no right to be on the pitch — a walkover trophy, but a trophy all the same, and the first the reserve side had lifted since its reactivation a year earlier.

That reactivation, in 2023, revived something that had quietly lapsed. Wisła's reserves had turned out before, with a side recorded playing as far back as the 2003–2004 season, but the team spent long stretches simply not existing in any organised form before the club rebuilt it. The rebuilt version wasted little time: the following season it won the IV Liga Małopolska, the fifth tier, and went up to the III liga.

Kamil Kaczówka featured through that promotion campaign, one of the younger names the reserve setup has passed through on the way toward, or occasionally alongside, the first team. Wisła's academy has sent players higher than that — Jakub Błaszczykowski and Karol Linetty among them — though their footballing educations ran through the youth ranks rather than this particular reserve shirt.

The derby that matters to this level of the club is not the one Kraków is known for. Cracovia's reserves provide the opposition for a second-string version of the Kraków Derby, with Wieczysta Kraków II and Hutnik Kraków II filling out the rest of the local rivalries a tier or two below where the famous clashes get played.

Home games are played at the Stadion Miejski im. Władysława Kawuli, in the Prądnik Czerwony district, a ground built for crowds in the hundreds rather than thousands — 1,224 seats, in a city where the parent club's own stadium holds many times that number.
