Centro Deportivo Wanda in Alcalá de Henares is not a public arena in the usual sense, but a working ground for Atlético Madrid ’s women’s team and their youth academy.
This complex replaced the older facilities at Cerro del Espino. It was built to be a larger base for the club’s development. The main stadium holds 2,700 spectators, a number that feels small for a club of this stature but appropriate for a training ground. The record attendance of 2,304 people was set at the opening match against Sevilla FC. Since then, the ground has hosted matches for the Primera División Femenina.
The ground has no permanent home for the senior men’s team. They train at Majadahonda. This facility is for the next generation and the women’s side.
