Clipbush Park

The ground has never been rebuilt. It stands as it was laid down in the mid-nineties, replacing the patchwork of Baron’s Hall Lawn. There is no grand architecture here, just a single concrete stand on the western side.

It opened with a friendly against Watford, a club from the Premier League. The real turning point came later, when the land at Clipbush Lane was secured. The grass is natural.

The most notable crowd arrived not for a league game, but for a friendly against Norwich City in the summer of two thousand and six. More recently, the name on the gate changed when a local firm, the Daly Group, became the sponsor. For a few seasons it was the Daly Group Stadium, but the old name, Clipbush Park, stuck in the mouths of the supporters who see it as their own patch of earth.
