Dinamo Stadium

The stadium sits in the shadow of a different age. This old structure is currently buried under a forest of cranes. A massive lattice roof is being bolted on, section by section, while the original brickwork below remains exposed.

The ground is changing hands. The events that took place here in the past are no longer relevant to the construction site that has replaced them. That era ended when the original structure began to fall. The new arena rising from the rubble is larger, built for a different scale of match, though the supporters who followed the team through decades do not fit inside this new geometry.

The location on the edge of the city has not moved, but the purpose of the land has. Where natural grass once lay, there is now a flat expanse of construction materials and temporary fencing. The street that runs past the site sees the same traffic, but the destination is unrecognisable. The work is not finished. The roof is still open to the sky, and the final result will look nothing like the building that stood here before.
