The Eilenriedestadion sits in the shadow of its own history. Opened on May 25, 1922 , it was born from a donation of 300,000 gold marks by Gustav Brandt, funded by the City of Hanover.

It reverted to "Stadion der Stadt Hannover" briefly before settling on "Eilenriedestadion" in 1951, named after the adjacent forest that gives the stand its breath. A short-lived branding period in 2016 saw it called "96 - DAS STADION," but the old name stuck, as names do when they are heavy enough.

The pitch is natural grass, cut flat and hard. On April 25, 1937, the crowd for a friendly against Belgium swelled to 56,000.

Today, it hosts Hannover 96 II and, since 2025, TSV Havelse. There is no official website for the ground itself; you must go to Hannover 96 to find it.
