Viborg pulled its ground down to the foundations between 2001 and 2007 and started again, at a cost of just over 62 million kroner, and what stands now carries the old name only in spirit. Energi Viborg Arena is the name that has stuck since October 2011, and it sits over a natural pitch fitted with undersoil heating.

The record crowd here dates back further than the current stands do: 18,000 packed in on 21 October 1956 to watch Denmark's B side take on Sweden's B side.

Viborg's youth-tournament pedigree runs through the 2011 European Under-21 Championship, which passed through here as one of the host venues.
