Since its inauguration in September 2001 , the stadium has served as the home for Bergantiños CF . The playing area is covered in a synthetic pitch, a modern convenience that allows for all-weather training and matches without the wear and tear of natural grass.

The stadium’s profile in Spanish football is marked by a single memorable occasion: a Copa del Rey match against Rayo Vallecano on December 15, 2021. The visit of the Madrid side brought an unexpected crowd of 1,800 fans, filling the modest stands and the newly installed temporary seating. The match ended in a 3-1 victory for the visitors, but the day remains a highlight for the home supporters. Today, Bergantiños CF competes in the Segunda Federación , playing their matches on the same pitch that hosted their first-ever game at the site.
