It serves as the home for Clube Desportivo da Huíla in the Girabola .

History is not buried here. The stadium hosted the opening match of the 2010 tournament, where Angola drew 4-4 with Mali in a game noted as the highest-scoring draw in the competition's history. Later, it hosted a quarter-final between Zambia and Nigeria, a match that went to penalties and ended with Nigeria advancing. The attendance record is associated with that opening day, when 15,000 people filled the stands. Today, the capacity is listed as 20,000, though the concrete feels smaller than the numbers suggest.

The building is managed by the Department of Youth and Sports of Huíla Province . It does not have an official website, which leaves little to look for online. Instead, the story is told through the games played here. It hosts the final of the Taça de Angola , including the 2023 final between Petro de Luanda and Académica do Lobito.
