Gelora Delta Stadium
Sidoarjo, Indonesia
The pink entrance of Gelora Delta Stadium faces a wide, grey plaza, flanked by tall steel towers for floodlighting.
The complex began with a swimming pool in 1984, followed by a tennis court and a multipurpose hall, before the football stadium itself was finished at the turn of the century. It was opened alongside the PON XV National Sports Week and named after the region's position between the Brantas River and the Java Sea.
Recent work changed the look of the stands. Old concrete seating was pulled up and replaced with individual flip-up chairs to meet international standards, a project finished in early 2025. The capacity shrank as a result, but the pitch remains natural grass, maintained with locally grown turf.
The stadium is not the home of the bigger club from Surabaya, yet it has seen their supporters cause trouble.
