Møhlenpris idrettsplass

Møhlenpris Idrettsplass is located in the Møhlenpris district of Bergen.

The ground opened in 1899 as Bergen’s first public sports field, though the land itself had been secured a few years earlier by a group of local physicians who donated the plot to the municipality. It was not until 1921, when architect Georg Greve completed the grandstand and clubhouse, that the facility took its familiar form. For decades it hosted everything from children’s games to gymnastics displays and rifle exercises, long before football became its primary use.

Today SK Djerv and Nordnes Idrettslag train here, and the surface — laid down in 2005 — has replaced the coal gravel and stone meal that once made the ground uneven in winter.

Some of the past is still visible in the architecture. There are no banners, no commercial signage — just the quiet presence of a facility that has endured through changing seasons and shifting priorities.
