Pors Stadion

The ground sits in the Vessia district of Porsgrunn, set back from the water on the west side of the Porsgrunnselva river.

Pors Stadion is the home of Pors Grenland, who currently compete in the Norwegian second division, the 2. divisjon. The club has occupied the site since it opened in 1936, after construction began five years earlier, though no architect is named in the records. The capacity is listed as 7,000 by most accounts, though some sources suggest a lower figure of 3,700.

The pitch is covered in artificial turf, laid down in the mid-2000s to replace the natural grass that served the players before. There are no heating mats under the surface, and the lighting consists of modern LED floodlights mounted on high poles around the perimeter.

The stadium has a history of hosting international youth football, having welcomed the Norway national under-21 team on several occasions. The ground has never carried a sponsor’s name, retaining its original identity through decades of professional football in Norway.
